An update from David via Brian@Weeroona.

I received a call from David this afternoon explaining why there have been no new posts on the blog since Namche Bazar, wi-fi signals are a little scarce out where they are now as it's only the larger villages with wi-fi accessible Internet is available.

At the time of David's call, they were about 2 hours away from Dinboche in the little village of Shomare where David is hoping to update the blog.

Google Maps, copy/paste 27.889232,86.829758 into the search box for the location or,

http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=14/27.8812/86.8176  - a much better map of the area.

Everybody is travelling well, there have been a couple of upset stomachs who have partially recovered and now there are two others suffering from the same malady.

The weather isn't very good at the moment with the views obscured by cloud and it has been snowing a little, something that I don't think walking up the 1000 steps prepared them for!

The temperature overnight has been dropping to as low as -10 C -  I wonder how those rented  sleeping bags are working?

Regards, Brian@Weeroona

An old folk remedy for upset stomachs is to drink the water that rice has been cooked in. I don't know how it works and I'm not claiming that it does but I advised a couple of people to try it and it appeared to work very well for them.
A couple of days of discomfort probably works just as well, your system settles down to the new diet and bugs and all is well. : )

Thanks so much Brian. I've been worried out of my mind. Last I heard Courtney was sick with a nasty flu type bug so if David still have the group together that must mean she has pushed through. She's amazing. So glad to hear they are all ok. I'll be thinking warm and snowless thoughts for them.

Jasmine, I wouldn't worry too much, David is far too cautious to allow anybody to push on if they are really ill. I'm sure that you know what it's like, you go somewhere well out of your normal area and you seem to catch at least one bug. You might feel like death warmed up at times but then when you get yourself going, you realise that you will live after all and you start to enjoy and appreciate what you have around you.
And don't forget, Susan is there to keep an eye on David and make sure he's switched on! : )

Thanks Brian. I have absolute faith in David - no worries about that at all. Just so good to hear that they are all soldering on. I hope David can get some signal and give us a big update some time soon. Thanks again. J
