Saturday 8th Feb, 2014. A few days out...

Well we are now just a few days from departure, and there is some genuine excitement building within the team.

For those who have connected with us via this blog on previous trips, we hope you will do so again. Your encouragement and humour have always been a terrific source of energy and entertainment for us as we read them huddled around a Yak Poo stove at 5000mts with minus 15deg outside.

If this years trip provides just a portion of the fun and excitement that we have had previous years, then Team2014 are going to very much enjoy their Nepal adventure..!

John, it was on my list for the jac fruit......bugga. David is really disappointed!!!! Can you please please save me some and I'll make contact when I return and get you to post me some. In the mean time I'll have to settle for a Lukla snickers bar with a used by date of 2007 for a bit of energy

From a long way away in Ireland wishing the 2014 team all the very best on what will no doubt be the trip of a lifetime. Word of warning...keep your food close when Sammy is around. Happy trails!

Team, all the very best for a smooth trek. You are in for some really tough days and will soon see the value of your training and probably wish you'd done even more. A couple of warnings: Go easy on the garlic soup and treat Gorka Beer with respect (it's about 70%). For me it was a terrific and rewarding experience and I hopeit's the same for you.
