Thursday 6th Mar. Farewell Nepal...

Pictured. The team saying a farewell to Kathmandu Guest House, with Uttum (Hotel Manager) and Laxman (No 1 driver in Kat).

So we have now departed Nepal (not easy for some). This morning we all completed some last minute shopping and coffee intakes. (Kathmandu now has some ripper coffee outlets). Most of us feel we have already put back on half the weight lost on the trek, so perhaps it is a good thing that we get to Thailand to sweat it off again..!!!

We had a great night last night celebrating Paulenes birthday. Eating cake and singing happy birthday at Rum Doodles restaurant. I think she really appreciated it. She's a ripper to travel with.

Update from Bangkok.

Thanks Sue
Amazing trip still on a high, although I bent over this morning to fasten my sandal and I think pulled my sciatic...had to laugh until I cried because of the pain.

How does spell check get the word "bloom" from "look". Anyway, hope you had a blooming good night.

Oh dear. This often happens. Just provide him support and encouragement, but draw the line at him wearing the same jocks for a week...!!!
Oh dear.....did that just go public???

That's not funny, last night he was counting how many more days he could wear his socks.

Ok, this is more serious. We will may need to adopt a gradual approach.
Cook him Dahl Bhat tonight and offer him a 90min massage for $22. Up to you what ending to provide.
Make him a scotch and coke (NOT ginger).
Turn the mains power off at 8.30, just as he is sitting down to watch his favourite TV and claim "no electricity, it's the moouuntain...."
At bedtime, bring him a cup of tea, but only dunk the tea bag once.
Don't flush the toilet for 48hrs.
Let me know how you go.

I actually think we are both having withdrawals, can't seem to get down to anything in particular. Normally we settle right back in after a holiday but Nepal takes some beating It is going to be a long 12 months until we return.
Didi not allowed to mention Ginger, Des just doesn't have a sense of humour but everyone else thinks its very funny.
I had an ex ray on Friday just in case I've broken my coxic(?)bone from the fall in Pokrha, but I just think muscle/nerve damage.
As for the massage...my turn whatever the outcome!!!!!!

Flemington Rd roundabout will sort him out. Get him to go around that the Nepalese way. Paulene, sounds like you need "Cookie" in your life (from the Namche lodge). He would have done your sandals up for you and you wouldn't have had sciatic issues. So solli so solli. I did have a little chuckle this afternoon when I was at the supermarket in the fruit and veggies buying Ginger.......not to use as dry ginger ale though!!!!
