Hi all. As expected, we had no wifi last night at Lobouche so no update.

We have arrived safely into Gorak Shep 5,100mts. A mini achievement to get all 11 here given some have struggled a little with the altitude and mild headaches and tummies. It was as usual a tough slog up to here this morning. Only a 200mtr climb but never easy at this altitude.

Temperature last night was an acceptable minus 8. Our hired minus 10 sleeping bags are doing the job, and those who are breaking out their hired down jackets claim they are toasty warm.

All the team have commented on how good the food has been thus far, although most have already planned their "food attack" when we return to Kat in 4-5 days time.

We've seen a number of rescue helicopters last night and this morning taking out sick Trekkers, fortunately not us.

We are all amused at Kevin's pants falling down due to his weight loss. He's saying "it's the new Kevin"

Sammy has been climbing well but was slower today.

Rhys has gone into 4 wheel drive and is going well.

Ryan, Greg and Courtney have energy to spare each day.

The two Johns are trekking strong.

Sue is keeping us amused. Loves to tell the team stories of previous years mishaps..!!

Bill trudging along well.

So relaxing today and then the big climb tomorrow. This is what we've prepared for.
Hoping for a good morning and clear sky.
Tomorrow is an 8-10hr day, so we will be sleepy tomorrow night at Perishe 4,200mts.
Update later tomorrow morning with our result on KP.

PS. Have read out your responses to the team from the previous post. All appreciated. Thanks all.

Headaches, tummy aches, chesties, loss of weight. Didi does that to people. Great to hear everyone is battling on. Good luck with the climb up to KP. News from the real world- Bill (Team 2013) had a great day on golf course again and name in Herald Sun last week. He expected the news to appear in the Everest Courier Mail

Great to get your update & know that you have all made it this far. Gorak Shep is a good place to do any last minute washing & rest up prior to the last massive push up KP & then the long sprint to Perishe. Davo, don't forget to stay at the lodge with the bar & Foxtel.
Kev, don't forget to pack the singlet & hat, looking forward to photo with all of you perched on top KP.

The "last minute washing" came up in discussion at lunchtime today mate.

From what I've been reading, thought the clothes line might have been full, as Ray pointed out early in the piece when stomach upsets were first reported, so disappointed did not involve Didi, she must have/still been in her element with the suffering inflicted on the others.

PS. My advice for everyone else is not to get between Courtney and whatever food she is craving once you get back to Kathmandu. You could easily lose an arm.

Hi Davo & John
Good to hear everything is going well. The photos are great. Seeing Tony Abbot wants me work till I am 105 I might get the chance to go myself, if I live that long.
John, is the trek what you would hope it to be?

All the best

Well done to you all!
If Didi tells any story's that start with "once upon a time there was this Scotttttish guy" dont believe a word she says it is all made up?
Fantastic effort folks I would love to say its all down hill after KP but its not, still some tuff days ahead. Just focus on that steak and beer at Rum Doodles that should help get you down?
