A few even celebrated with the odd bottle of Nepal Ice surrounded by these impressive Giants of the Himalayas. The sacred Machupachare, Annapurna South, Annapurna 1, Annapurna 2, just to name a few, dominate the skyline. We could not have asked for better weather. I am so impressed with everyone's strength both mentally and physically.
Annie managed to score a free pair of crampons that were left behind, so her and Chris tackled the icy sections with ease. Luckily it had snowed last night so a fresh cover of snow over the icy sections helped immensely. We crossed two sections prone to Avalanche. Our guide Prakash was keen to get us through this section and asked us not to stop to take photos and to get through it quickly. We need to leave Base Camp earlier than the other mornings as he wants us back through the Avalanche section before the sun hits it making it prone to fall.
As I am sitting in the lodge the clouds are starting to roll in which seems to be the daily process, before it clears again at around 8pm.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to log onto the Trek Nepal with Me website to read the comments as the wifi has been really slow and won't let me in.
It's cooling off really quickly and soon we will be looking for that kerosene heater under the table. The prediction is for minus 20!!! This will test us.
Tomorrow night we will be back down in the lower altitude of Bamboo. I will update from there if wifi allows.
