Pictured. The Namche team at the Lukla arch, which is the start of the Namche and Everest Base Camp treks.

And yes, that is indeed a pink tutu in the photo!! Maggie doing her thing for breast cancer. Good onya Maggie.

All trekked well on day 1, although several opted for an early night last night, probably due to our early wake up yesterday morning (4am) to catch our Lukla flight.

All amazed by the scenery, but they haven't seen anything yet! Suspect their cameras will be busy today and especially tomorrow (when we are at Everest View)

Big day today as we tackle the Namche climb. The younger members of the team will do it easy, but it will be a little tougher for a few others. The secret? Take it easy, stop to look around. Sloooow trekking.

Summer here and winter there but you are getting more sunshine than we are. What's going on?
Ahh yes, the big Namche climb day. And as leader, you will naturally be walking at the back of the group to encourage others and avoiding being classified with either the younger faster group or looking like you are finding it a bit tougher these days! : )
