So what happens when some of our kit bags are over the 10kg limit? One must lighten the load..!! Pictured are a number of the team helping the situation by eating several of the lollies that were planned to go on the trek!!! What a great sacrifice. Well done team...!!

We've had a good couple of days in Kat. We have visited Pashupatinath (Hindu cremation site) as well as Durbar Square (one of the primary attractions in Kat). We've walked several kilometers around Kathmandu, had some very funny evenings around the dinner tables.

We finalised our clothes and equipment today and are ready for a early night and our flight to Lukla early (very early) in the morning.

Team notes.

James loves his time on his own! Loves to get out early and not come home til late. Doesn't tell us where he goes. He's definitely our mystery man..!!

Kiwis. Hev bin heving a good time. A bet cold et night. They like walking around Ket.

Brendan. We lost him on the way to Durbar Square yesterday. He got sidetracked looking in a shop that sells very big knives!!!

Brian. Breakfast starts at 6, yet Brian is knocking on the doors at 5!! Once a tradie, always a tradie..!

Des. Thus far happy and no grumpy snaps to date!! (True Paulene). He has however been grumpy the last hour battling to get his kit bag under 10kg. (Refer lollies above)

Hoping for a good morning.

The weather is looking very promising at both ends and looking good up until Wednesday. Thursday forecast storms and Namche will be cold and overcast with possibly some snow next weekend. Better rug up!

Des, grumpy! I can't believe that. Hope your flight to Lukla is not delayed. The Kat domestic airport terminal is ok for about 30 minutes. any longer and you would be wishing Didi was there to keep you amused. The body frisk/s, as you head out onto the tarmac, are worth waiting for.

Be nice Wine.....I think Devied would rather camp a night at Domestic than have me there as bad influence.

Ok, so now the trek leader is GRUMPY.
Woke up and arrived at airport very early this morning for our 6.15 first flight to Lukla, only to be told that our booking is wrong and we are on second flight hours later.!!!
I insist on first flights for very good reason. A little grumpy, as well as 6 others who are sleep deprived..!

Hope you managed the second flight so cold at the airport. Jenny and I did first training session up Buni Mount and got caught in thunderstorm. View from top of fire tower amazing!!! Take care guys

All the best to Caroline and Blair (aka. the Kiwis), and of course to the rest of the crew.
Hope you saved some lollies for the trek! Did you check Caroline's bag for the bottle of champers she stashed?
