Pictured. Brendan & Caroline tackle a section of the Namche climb this morning.
For the first time since yesterday morning, I've come across sufficient Internet to post an update.

Our flight into Lukla yesterday was not without stress. We awoke at 4.30am to get out to the airport for our "first flight" to Lukla. On check-in however, we were told that we had been bumped to second flight hrs later... Not happy. We got in ok on the second flight and had an enjoyable trek to our first nights destination, TokTok @ 2,650mts

We have all arrived safely this afternoon into Namche at 3,500mts. The climb today was as hard as it's always been, although this group was able to knock it off in a very good time. Unfortunately, our planned view of Everest half way up didn't eventuate due to cloud.

Everyone is trekking so strongly and most of the time we have been able to trek as a group and enjoy the scenery (and some good laughs) together.

We are all overwhelmed with how much James eats..!! Two courses each meal. He's also known to have an afternoon nap.

Paulene, we have been fortunate to have Des grumpy free thus far, but today I kind of stuffed it a little. I ordered him a milk tea, when he asked for lemon tea..!!! Wasn't pretty, but we were able to calm him an hour or two later..!

Not a lot of snow or ice thus far, and temperatures have been mild. Last night at TokTok, most reported unzipping and climbing out of their sleeping bags during the night.

Up to Everest View Hotel tomorrow and then back down to Namche tomorrow night for acclimatisation before going higher the next day.

Reading your comments to the group, thanks.

Cloud at the Everest viewing point on the Namche climb. Sounds familiar. Glad to hear you are on schedule and all climbing well. Tell Des not to be so fussy. Glad you did not use the words "rest day" Dave, when talking about wandering up to Everest View Hotel and back to Namche to acclimatise. Hope the cloud stays away and you see Everest and Ama Dablam.

Didi. Just got back from EVH. A bit of cloud, but Everest made some terrific appearances while we were there. The team was happy to see her. Lunch at Kumjung

Brendan is a cool dude from Ballrat. We were both taking a much needed rest at the time. I'm a bit behind most of the boys on the big climbs but certainly holding my own. It is so unbelievably beautiful here and apart from desperately needing a shower I'm loving it.

Hi David, we got back to Kathmandu on Tuesday arvo & went to the guest house & it was good to hear that you were able to fly yo Lukla as planned. Out Gorkha way it was very foggy for a day or 2 & we were wondering if you got out.

Hope everyone has a great time & the weather is kind.

Hi Veals. What a shame we missed you.
We got out on Monday as planned, although on second flight, not first one as booked.
Right now sitting in a sunny warm bakery at Namche. Just completed our acclimatisation climb up to Everest View and back.
How was your trek?

Veals and Bel....woo hoo. Welcome back. Hijack the everest blog for a short time and fill us in on your Rupinala Pass trek. The Everest crew will enjoy the read when they're sitting around the minus 10 dining room trying to keep warm!!!!

Hi Didi, trek was fantastic but didn't to Rupina La due to cold & snow. We had ice about 1/4 inch thick on tent one morining & we still had another few days climb (1500m elevation) so we trekked around Darche Hill (it's only 3200m high). Apparently the views at Darche Hill surpass poon hill but it was snowing so we saw lots of cloud. Still no problem as some of the villages were amazing & some of them had never seen a treking house (tent) before.

As per Nepal, every day was different with treks thru rhododendrum forests, along ridges, rain forests, fields, sunny, rain & snow.

Skank got thru unscathed with was good. We fly out Friday & back in Bairnsdale Saturday.

Oh by the way, dirtiest, smelliest trek ever. You would have loved it!
