Namche Bazaar Trek. Up to Everest View (David 16/1 - 4pm)

Hi all. Well we climbed up to the Everest View Hotel today. Unfortunately not all of us (4 chose not to), but those who made the effort were rewarded with a beautiful view of Everest and its mighty neighbours. 20min after our arrival, clouds rolled in and obscured Everest, so our timing getting up there was perfect. A lot of ice and snow on the way up, and a few slips and falls from some of us, but no real damage.
It was a great effort by all with one or two becoming emotional upon arrival. (Paulene, you can relate to that I'm sure).
Sitting in the Namche Bakery right now having a half descent coffee and a wonderful apple strudel (or two)..!!
Young Connor sprained his ankle on the steps down from his room this morning and is currently walking very tenderly...! Will be interesting to see if he is up to the walk down tomorrow, otherwise he may find himself on a donkey...!

Aiming to do so Des, although quiet time of the year. I may video call you when I get back to Kat, just to say a hello. FaceTime or Skype?

While those two, Susan and David, are gallivanting around the mountains and having a gay old time, I'm trying to help out by keeping the blog in some sort of order. We are having a little trouble with the software putting wrong dates in and not allowing the blog writers to resize images and I'm trying to rectify any problems. So, if blog entries change in respect to placement and image size, that's probably me trying to keep some sort of order.

Great effort guys. You were lucky to get that 20 minute view of Everest. We were not so lucky in 2012. Ama Dablam is still spectacular. Good luck with the descent tomorrow. Tell Grace that I walked past her house this morning and it is still standing.

As usual having a chuckle reading through the blogs & in awe of the scenery but not jealous in any way cause "I don't do cold". Great to hear both groups getting on well & having many laughs amongst the hard yards. Stay safe & keep on trekking!
