Everest Base Camp. Wed 25/2. Acclimatisation day to Everest View Hotel

25/2/2015

We have just returned from our trudge up to EVH. Mild and sunny, although Everest was in and out of cloud. It did make a few terrific appearances to satisfy the team.

We met a group of Americans at the hotel who are doing the same trek. Had several laughs with them, so will be good to run into them again higher.

Back in Namche at one of the sun drenched bakeries. There are clouds building so it will be interesting to see what the weather does over the next few days.

All happy and the team trekking very well.

Hi David, Great photo as usual. Hope the rest of the trek goes as planned and that the views at the end are just as good. Keeping you in our thoughts. Take care. The Knells.

Thanks Leanne.
We are relaxing at the moment (3.35pm) and getting ready for a tough day tomorrow. Starts out relatively easy, but then a big climb after lunch, which will probably take around 2hrs.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like the weather is going to deteriorate over the next couple of days.Thursday and Friday cloudy and maybe some rain, Saturday and Sunday more cloud and higher chance of rain and possible snowfall at night. Rain would be a bummer but if it snows a little and it sticks around, I reckon it's a great look.

Hi Caroline and Blair, and the rest of the crew,
Wow, what an amazing adventure you guys are having! Don't worry about the lack of showers Caroline - I bet you all smell as bad as eachother! Just make sure you have one before you return to OZ, otherwise they may not let you on the plane!
Take care of eachother,
Jo xxx

Happy days - hope they are all that good!
Fingers crossed that you are up high enough for snow-not rain.
Not as much snow around as 2013 ???
Maybe a good test for all the flash boots coming up? - getting the socks dry aint easy - or pleasant after they've done a few days if I remember!!
Safe trekking - and hope the weather holds for you!

Hi Kim. Glad that you (and AB) are following us. Difficult to put pictures up at the moment due to lousy Internet where we are.

Hi David,
Trek was good (see previous post for rundown). Enjoy the sun, it has been raining in KTM today (Thursday) with a bit of thunder & lighting.

Enjoy the rest of the trek & take care.
