2016 team ready to depart

Very funny morning! Some rather excited team members were barely able to control their enthusiasm! Some funny blog posts circulated within the previous blog.

With the recommendation from the recent Island Peak team, we have checked our main bags straight through to Kathmandu (despite our stopover tonight in Bangkok) to avoid re-checking them back in tomorrow morning. This will avoid the long check-in queues. It also means that we will be living out of our backpacks tonight, so hopefully nothing forgotten.

Our normally 18-20kg bags were closer to 30kg this time due to our agreeing a few weeks ago to take over 70kg of children's educational books for a charity. These will be picked up upon our arrival.

Some of the team members are showing off some nice new camera gear, so I'm confident this particular trip is going to produce some very good photos, hopeful of sunny skies and smiling faces.
