The team at the Everest View Hotel. Everest is just peeping out above the Nuptse/Lhotse Ridge, while Ama Dablam is to the right.
We set out this morning to Everest View Hotel @ 3800mts. Unfortunately we lost Vidia shortly after the start of the climb due to her still battling stomach issues. She decided to return to the lodge and rest for the day. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow.

After a steep and challenging climb, and with the joy of the team seeing their first real Yak, we were rewarded with a cloudless view of Everest and it's mighty neighbours. We had a normal very expensive pot of hot chocolate on the Everest View Hotel balcony, before walking back down to Namche via a pleasant lunch at Khumjung. No sooner had we moved away from the hotel, the clouds came in and smothered Everest. Our timing was perfect.

We are now sitting in the Namche Bakery having hot chocolates, and yes some cakes. It has become very dark outside and some snow flakes are falling. Hopefully just a sprinkle.

Everyone loved today. They now feel they are amongst some real mountains.

Tomorrow we set out for Deboche. It will be a 6-7hr day and will include a steep drop to the river and a drawn out climb on the other side to Thengboche.

A special note to my son at home who's doing it tough just at the moment. Stay strong mate. Love you and will be home soon.

Almost died getting up there so I was happy to have any nourishment regardless of cost 🤓

Hi everyone. Forgot to mention that from tomorrow, wifi and/or carrier signal starts to become a little inconsistent. Obviously will try to post an update whenever I get a signal. If I miss a night, just check the following night to see if I've been able to post.

is that $18 for a pot of hot chocolate to share or for a mug? just asking and the bit from namche to Everest view hotel sounds challenging. I didn't get to evh coz my son was unwell at namche and I wasn't confident to leave him.

That would be for a pot Christine. Would serve about 6 - 8 cups. You pay for the view I think.

I remember that "rest day" walk to Everest View Hotel very well. What a tough slog that was. Just a warning to the group about your leader, Dave. He tends to lose a trekker every now and then. He left me behind on icy walk down from the hotel to Khumjung.

Wow, amazing photo. Anand, this afternoon, I will show Asha and Akash the video clip of the EBC trek - found it on the website. It will help them visualise where you are going. It's very interesting. David, thank you for all the updates and photos. Sounds like a long trek today.
