Fri 2nd Jan. Gaining altitude on our 2nd big climb...

Today we woke up to fog. Namche had disappeared and so had the scenery. We kept our raincoats out just in case we got snow. No sooner had we climbed out of Namche and the sun came out. Our Mountain View kept disappearing behind cloud and no sooner would it disappear it would reappear. This went on for about half an hour. Again we were able to take the layers off down to a T-shirt.
The climb up to Tengboche never gets easier. The sun was out but we also had a nice breeze keeping us cool. A few have bought prayer flags and will get them blessed by the monks in the Monastery.
Everyone feeling great.

Some say it's one of the tougher climbs of the trek. Great effort everyone. A nice gradual climb tomorrow up to Dingboche and 4,400mts..!
You're well and truly getting into altitude from tomorrow. Heaps of encouragement to one another will have you all standing on KP in around 5 days time.

Hey Wine. I can’t help but think this good weather has to run out sooner or later. I have my fingers crossed.

Yes I'd agree David one of the tougher days of the EBC Trek from what I remember.
