This morning we finalized our shopping, had some lunch and headed of to Pashputinath for the afternoon. We had two choices of getting there. Evan and Elaine decided not to go as they were there last year which leaves five of us. We could have taken a Jeep in luxury for around $45 return or our second option was a local taxi smaller than a Getz, for $10 return. You guess which one we took!!! I had the middle in the front along with Dorrie.....but wait, there’s no seat in the middle only a hand brake and the gears. I tried to explain to the driver he could only use 1st and 3rd gear as 2nd and 4th where not possible because a bum cheek stopping the gear stick moving into position. Poor Stacey was jammed between Matt....well over 6ft and Dale....just tipping 6ft.
Return trip was even more squashed with Matt, Stacey, Dorrie and me in the back. What was I thinking saying no to the Jeep. REPEAT AFTER ME “it’s an adventure, not a holiday”.
We witnessed about three cremations taking place at different stages. One even had the former Prime Minister turn up under heavy security. We are thinking he was there for a mountaineering pioneer Elizabeth Hawley who passed away recently. Local papers where saying she was being cremated today.
A packing frenzy tonight with Evan and Elaine successfully getting their bags under 10kg....ok, where’s he hiding the Everest. Everyone else not bad with a couple wearing an extra layer to keep it under 10kg.
An early start with a 4.30am wake up and leaving for the airport at 5am. I have purchased a SIM card with Data so should be able to keep you updated tomorrow morning. Crossing fingers we get out of Kathmandu Lukla bound.

Love the smiles. Weather forecast looks great, so you should be on the mighty EBC trek later today. Remember "sloooow trekking".
Good luck this morning.

Hi span, I haven’t been able to keep up with Matt’s purchases. I need to remind him he only has a 30Kg bag limit on his international flight.
