Sat 10th Feb. Lukla to Kathmandu - No stress...

Never in all my trips have I got out of Lukla as quick as we did. We were over at the airport by 6.30am, on our flight by 7am and back in Kathmandu by 7.30am.

I seriously miss the yaks and donkeys and village life. It’s back to cars, traffic and instead of dust, pollution.

Being so early our rooms at the KGH weren’t ready. So it was off to the bakery for a BLT, Tiramisu (Dale had cheesecake) and a latte.....at 8.30 in the morning. What else do we get up to when arriving back in Kathmandu. Well the pictures say it all......

(Wine, I'm first in..!!).
Team 2018, one might feel guilty about pampering yourself, but when you've just knocked off an EBC, you have full rights to enjoy every bit of it. Soak it up. So good that you got out first thing this morning. You really did get excellent weather, although with the frustrating exception of those two days you had at EBC. gggrrrr..!!

No one is disappointed one bit. All just happy to have made it and have superb views along the way. Enjoying the pampering.

Spectacular photos throughout Didi. I suppose you have already booked an appointment to have your feet nibbled in Bangkok?

Wine. They’re not having a stopover in Bangkok mate. 5hr airport transit, then pushing straight through.

Well done to the team, it’s a true reflection on Sue and David’s trips that everyone reaches KP. The effort that they provide in the planning and pre trip training is essential in reaching your goal. Good to see you caught up with Ngima.

Thanks Dis. We aren't quite running at 100%, plus one can never control the weather (2015.!), but we are happy that our pre-departure prep and our knowledge over the years often results in success up high. All the best for your upcoming trip mate

Thanks Dis, very satisfying when the whole group make it. Even discussing with the group over lunch talking about the KP climb and what goes through your head for the two hours. I was the first to admit a few times I think “I can’t take another step, I’m done”. They’re evil thoughts that you refuse to give in to.

Well done everybody on completing what appeared to be a relatively stress free trek, no delays, no snow, no ice, no colds & no diarrhoea!
Also note that we have 2 new inductees, Evan & Elaine, into the Hall of Fame. This honour goes to those who have successfully completed (sorry Basha) both the EBC trek & the more gruelling & physically demanding ABC trek. Perhaps some of the current group might be up for the challenge in the future...???

Whoa brown.....opening up a can of worms there. Love it. I think Evan and Elaine are declaring Everest harder than Annapurna. But it’s something that must take time to declare as the recent influx of oxygen may have affected their ability to judge. I’ll give them a bit of time.
