All this shopping has worn poor Evan out
An early morning walk to the Monkey Temple. Love the back streets of Kathmandu, where you find the butcher shops, fish shops and all the local shops. I’d never buy meat from the meat shops. There’s no refrigeration, and it’s hanging up with the dust of the cars going by. Guess what.....that’s the meat being served in the restaurants we eat at each night!!! Monkeys were, as always entertaining. We got back to Thamal and hit the shops. North face bags, day packs, sleeping bags, trekking poles, polar fleece and while everyone was trying to talk Matt out of the yellow pants, I was encouraging him to buy them. “They’d look good” I said. Tess, will you be upset if he comes home with them?

Oh no.....Is Evan having too many beers....? Remind him that he is on a serious altitude trek next week, not just a stroll through the Himalayan foothills..!!
oh oh.....! Should I have said that?????

Oh now you mention it maybe it is all the beer that has worn him out. I thought the shopping.

Note the serious VPL (visible panty line) going on with Matt’s new yellow trekking pants. Must be his new jocks. The Bee Gees Staying Alive seems appropriate .

Come on Matt, you can do it!
Be the first TNWM to do the khumbu trek “free styling”. Get rid of the VPL.

Jocks are overrated.......but any little mishap will leave him with a VBS (visible brown stain). Personally, I’d prefer the VPL.

I have to be seen out in public with him! You know, in places where yellow pants with visible panty lines 😂 are not socially acceptable. Dont encourage him, he WILL wear them... jock less too.... hear my warning.... Matt will embarrass you! Oh... and he says I'm the compulsive shopper. ... has he done anything else since arriving?
Poor Evan. .. He needs a nap... let him rest 😉

I appreciate your concerns Tess, we are being seen out in public with him too. Shortly we will need to bann him from the shops, although the shop owners love him and if I bann him from the shops I’m scarred the Hashish touts will get to him.

What are you crazy people doing trying to talk Matt out of the yellow pants?!?! They are superb! I think you have a new trek uniform right there.

Hope it was just shopping getting to dad and not a dud tip on the Gorkhas. When do we get a Masterchef-style review?

I agree Drew, the yellow pants were the best. Dad is making up for no alcohol for the next two weeks.
