NEW. Check out the new map at the top right of this page to track where the team currently is on their mighty EBC trek.

Thursday 25th
Today’s adventures included a walk to the Monkey Temple down the real non tourist parts of Kathmandu. Took a bit longer than normal leading the group a little bit off course but eventually stumbled on the street we needed and found ourselves at the bottom of the 380 steps leading up to the temple. Monkeys are always funny. Although Rhonda doesn’t find them at all amusing. There are two rules with monkeys. Rule 1. Don’t make eye contact with them and get involved in a “stare off”. The monkey will always win. Rule 2. Don’t eat food around a Monkey. Josh decided he needed to refuel with a Mars bar. Well a monkey eyed it off and leapt at him clinging to his jumper. Don’t worry Margaret, he doesn’t need a Rabies injection. And Josh walked away unharmed too.

Once back in Thamal the team picked up there sleeping bags and down jackets and made a few final purchases. Grabbed a bite to eat and then headed to Pashputinath. We arrived just as a body was being blessed and cremated.

Then it was back to the hotel to regroup, discuss dinner plans and pack our bags ready for our 5.15am pick up to get us to the airport for our flight to I Lukla. Everything crossed we get out tomorrow.

Friday 26th
We have landed in Lukla. Never have we got out on our scheduled time of 6.45am. Well today we broke records.

Can’t believe you got in straight away given the weather forecast. Love the photos, particularly on the plane. Poor Josh, and how’s the face on Tess...!
First big climb today. GO TEAM....

No sooner had we sat down and made ourselves comfortable for our usual 3-5 hour wait, they were calling us to board.

I've been trying to work out who you are Khumbu, but your kind and sincere words just eliminated all of those who I thought you were...!!!!

If you can keep an eye out for these two Canadians... they should be making their way down in a day or two

Gary was saying we needed to watch out for a couple carrying canoes. They shouldn’t be too hard to find.

How did the team climb, Sue? I don't suppose you were able to get a view of Everest half way up the "hill" to Namche?
