Wed 26th Feb - Everest No View

26/2/2020

Awoken to heavy snow this morning. Normally we do the hard slog up to Everest View Hotel at 3800 Metres.  With the fresh snow overnight and still falling heavy this morning I suggested we wait until midday, but the team wanted to walk in the snow. We decided to skip Everest View as we wouldn't have a track to walk on and instead head up to Khumjung.  We started out in our layers for snow walking and within 5min had to de-layer. Steep and hot in our snow jackets. No views. Just deep fresh snow and clouds. Sun trying to come out as we have a tea break in Khumjung.

I love a fresh cover of snow....No dust. I I've heard a new group of trekkers have arrived into Namche today while you've been up at Kumjung and used up all the hot water and eaten all the Apple Pie at the bakery.

Haven’t been long back. Tough day. A lot of slips and slides. Agree, the scenery is going to be splendid. No mountains at all today. Visibility 30mts max all day.. Hot shower not for me. Unreliable and when you turn the water off, you almost have a cardiac from the cold.!!! Did have a good scrub down yesterday upon arrival (no photos)

At least Sue isn't there to eat all the apple pie this time!

Hope not Khumbu. Weather is better from tomorrow, and hopefully the paths will be stamped down for us.

Hello there. This from Dubai? Yes mate, grey for sure. That’s why I shave everyday.!! But on the EBC trek, none of that matters.!

You look to have more of a grimace than a smile in that blog photo Dave. Maybe you are softening.By the way, I have started my training for the coast2coast walk next year. I walked from the house to the letterbox yesterday.

Wow! Beautiful!

Prakash has ordered some beautiful scenery for you all.

Hopefully it's not too cold up at Tengboche.

Hi there MM. Great that you’re following us. Not too cold just yet, but it gets challenging from here. Hope all is good back at WCC
