Sun 18th Sept. Training Session #1 Completed

18/9/2016

On a rather dreary and overcast day, we commenced our preparation for our 2017 trips this morning.
Several from next year's Annapurna & Everest treks assembled at the 1000 Steps to meet each other and complete 2 leisurely circuits of this great training ground.
Some did it "easier" than others and came away with quite a lot "left in the tank". All are keen to advance their preparation in readiness for these marvelous treks.
Well done to those who travelled a fair way to get to this opening session (several from Bairnsdale, 1 from Dubai..!!).
We will be following up with another session at the Steps in 2 weeks time

Don't forget the other important elements of the training program...
the number of circuits determines the number of sausages & beers afterwards, 2x2x2 & so on. Once you get to 4 circuits, the training program becomes a little more difficult!!!

Team. Don't listen to Bill. He can be a destructive influence on a training objective..! His view that alcohol is a benefit for high altitude trekking has never been medically proven..!!
It's been one of Sue's and my greatest achievements in getting this "cowboy" up to Annapurna and Everest Base Camps..!! LOL.
Bill. Still time to brush those boots down and sign up for a three-peat..!!

Glad I come over for the trek. Only met our time briefly but I think it's a good team and I know we will enjoy ourselves on the EBC trek. If anyone wants to do some hi temperature training, (sorry, that's not high altitude training) I have a spare bedroom here and we can train in the sand dunes. Looking forward to seeing you all, a lot fitter when we meet again in Kathmandu.
